Build the Morgan Falls Bridge - With Bicycle Access

Dear Superintendent Brown,

I support building the bridge, but  as a minimum, it must include direct bicycle access between Lower Roswell Road to the river and across the bridge. As a bicyclist, I will obey any NPS rules and signs and promise NOT to ride my bicycle wherever they are prohibited, including pedestrian-only trails. I will reach out within the bicycling community and emphasize we all must follow and obey these rules. If I see a bicyclist breaking the rules, if safe, I will ask this person to stop.

Opening up the bridge for bicyclists can reduce carbon emissions by providing an alternative to using a motor vehicles to enjoy the park. Local families could ride their bikes to the park and enjoy a picnic on the river. Potential commuters can access MARTA from East Cobb. Employees who live in East Cobb and work in the Morgan Falls area in Sandy Springs would have a viable option to ride their bike to work. Sandy Springs is actively working on creating bike routes, lanes and paths on the East side of the Chattahoochee. This will enable citizens from across the region to get out for healthy family-friendly exercise, greatly expanding what one sees today on the River in Roswell and reaping the same Quality of Life benefits as those residents.

I also support identical bicycle access on the proposed trail along the Chattahoochee from Morgan Falls to Johnson Ferry as is present at Cochran Shoals.

Please allow me, my family, friends and co-workers to responsibly ride a bicycle across the bridge.
